Tortuga’s flagship bag emerged from a need for a durable, comfortable, and accessible way to travel, complete with airline carry-on capabilities.

The founders of Tortuga, Fred and Jeremy, were looking to redesign their initial product offering. The goal was to create a more streamlined bag with increased organization and an equal, if not greater, capacity. One of the main features of the bag is that while it is worn as a backpack, it opens like a piece of luggage, enabling the user to access more of the interior and therefore, remain more organized.

Special attention was placed on the laptop compartment, as it needed to be accessible from the interior as well as an external pocket. Additional padding was placed on the internal divider for laptop protection.
